2012 State Discussion Meet

On December 7 three Clinton County Young Farmers participated in the Discussion Meet competition at the 2012 Indiana Farm Bureau State Convention in Indianapolis, IN.

Discussion Meet competitors participate in two rounds of discussion simulating a committee meeting. The top sixteen competitors then participate in a third round of discussion. This year, all three participants from Clinton County made it to the Sweet Sixteen and two, Julie Thelen and Liz Stitzel, were among four finalists in the last round of the competition. Julie, who is an agriculture teacher and FFA advisor at Clinton Central Jr./Sr. High School, was the winner of this years Discussion Meet.

We are proud of our Young Farmers and look forward to their continued contributions to Farm Bureau and to agriculture in our communities.

2011 State Young Farmer Leadership Conference

The Clinton County Young Farmers attended the annual state conference in Indianapolis this past weekend, where Chad Hymas was the keynote speaker. They attended sessions on topics such as farm safety, antibiotic use in livestock, and farm drainage, to name a few. Clinton County was represented by the following eight individuals: (from left to right) Matthew Paris, Crystal Bowles, Julie Thelen, Shelee Padgett, Stacey Pedigo, Aaron Pedigo, Liz Stitzel, and Jim Stitzel.
